Inktober 2016: Day 17

So ever since yesterday, my right hand has became numb and a bit cramped, so I thought that I should let my right hand rest and not draw any Inktober entries for a week.

Yet last night, I began inking a sketch with complicated composition, starring one of my robot OCs, Secretary-Bot in her environment. Initially I thought of inking some parts before moving on next day, but then as it look nice, I began adding more lines, until it seemed almost finished. By then I had finished the 17th Inktober entry last night.

The idea of the character started with a feminine robot face with headphones, which I interpreted as an interpreter or other non-action job. Then once I thought of secretary, I began designing the character. Compared to the previous characters, this character is made to be more “human” in design, with the “bob hair”, the “OL uniform”, and the make up. Initially I thought of designing her with legs, but then I figured, it would be interesting if Secretary-Bot is attached to her information centre, where she could provide information and guidance to the visitors.

The second design was drawn after I drew the first pencil draft of the entry, hence, the different design in buttons.

I used 0.1 pen for the thinnest line, and the 0.5 pen and brush pen for the thicker lines. I confessed that I am not too experienced in inking holo-projectors or advertisements, as I do not know how transparent are they, and how I could make them semi-transparent while emphasising the advertisement content.
